Toolbx Tax Rate Update Policy

To help dealers stay compliant and simplify tax rate management, TOOLBX uses Avalara to maintain up-to-date state sales tax rates. We pull the latest rate tables from Avalara and apply updates across the platform at the start of each calendar quarter.

Key Policy Points:

  • Quarterly Tax Rate Updates: TOOLBX pulls updated tax rate tables from Avalara and applies them across the platform at the start of each quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1). This ensures rates reflect current state and local tax laws.

  • Dealer Responsibility: While TOOLBX updates the tax rates, it is the dealer's responsibility to ensure the correct sales tax is charged on each transaction, including verifying product taxability and managing tax-exempt customers.

  • Taxability & Rate Concerns: If you become aware of changes to a product’s taxability or believe a tax rate is incorrect, please reach out to your Account Manager so we can investigate and make any needed adjustments.
