# Toolbx Tax Rate Update Policy

To help dealers stay compliant and simplify tax rate management, TOOLBX uses [Avalara](http://avalara.com) to maintain up-to-date state sales tax rates. We pull the latest rate tables from Avalara and apply updates across the platform at the start of each calendar quarter.

### **Key Policy Points:**

- **Quarterly Tax Rate Updates**: TOOLBX pulls updated tax rate tables from Avalara and applies them across the platform at the **start of each quarter** (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1). This ensures rates reflect current state and local tax laws.
- **Dealer Responsibility**: While TOOLBX updates the tax rates, it is **the dealer's responsibility** to ensure the correct sales tax is charged on each transaction, including verifying product taxability and managing tax-exempt customers.
- **Taxability & Rate Concerns**: If you become aware of changes to a product’s taxability or believe a tax rate is incorrect, please reach out to your **Account Manager** so we can investigate and make any needed adjustments.
