Multi-Account Login

Streamline customer access across multiple accounts with a single login and flexible account-switching.

Overview

Multi-Account Login enables your customers to access multiple Builder Portal accounts using a single email address—even across different ERP systems and store locations. This reduces onboarding friction and enhances account management flexibility.

What You Can Do

  • Invite users to multiple accounts via Dealer Admin

  • Use bulk or individual invites with support for multiple accounts

  • Let users switch between accounts after login

  • Ensure roles and permissions remain scoped per account

  • Empower users to link additional accounts from the Builder Portal

How to Invite Customers to Multiple Accounts

Individual invites

Invite a contact to more than one account directly from:

  • Accounts Page

    • Click Invite Customer

    • Enter the user's email

    • Enter the account number

    • Click Send Invite

    • Repeat for each account number you want to associate with that email
  • Account Details Page
    • The account is pre-selected based on the account you are viewing
    • Select Invite Contact
    • Enter the user’s email address
    • Click Send Invite

Bulk customer invites

  1. Download the Bulk Customer Invite CSV template

  2. Add a row for each email and account number you want to link

    1. To invite the same email to multiple accounts, add multiple rows using the same email with different account numbers

  3. Upload via Dealer Admin > Accounts > Bulk Invite

Roles and Permissions

  • User roles (Admin, Site Super, Accountant, etc.) are account-specific

  • A user may have different roles across their linked accounts

  • No new permissions are introduced in this release

What Customers See

  • At login, users are prompted to select from their available accounts
  • They can switch accounts at any time using the account dropdown in the navigation bar
  • Each account’s name is shown clearly on:
    • The /account page
    • The navigation bar

ERP Account Numbers may appear with a state or location prefix (e.g., OH-12345) to avoid confusion.

Best Practices for Multi-Account Onboarding

Clean up existing setups

If a customer has accounts under different emails:
  1. Invite their preferred email to all accounts
  2. Have them log in using the preferred email
  3. Remove outdated or duplicate email addresses

This consolidates access into one seamless multi-account setup.

How to guide your customers

When onboarding multi-account users, feel free to use or customize this language:

“You’ve been invited to multiple Builder Portal accounts under one email. After logging in, you’ll be prompted to choose which account to access. You can switch accounts any time from the top navigation bar.”

To link another account, customers can:

  1. Navigate to Builder Portal > Account Settings

  2. Click “Link an Additional Account”

  3. Enter the new account number

FAQs

Can I invite users to accounts across different ERPs?

Yes. Just include all relevant account numbers—even from different ERP systems—in the invite.

Will this affect transactions like quotes or payments?

No. Transactions are scoped to the selected account. There’s no impact on backend data.

Do customers need to re-register for each account?

No. A single registration flow links all assigned accounts under their email.
