Creating and applying product field layouts and sections

Overview

Layouts help you group product fields into reusable templates that can be applied to many products. You can build layouts by directly selecting fields or by organizing fields into named sections for better product detail page organization.

Before you begin

You need Catalog Management permissions. Make sure the fields you want to use in layouts already exist.

Step-by-step instructions

To create a new layout:

  1. Go to Products > Fields in Dealer Admin.

  2. Click Add a field layout.

  3. Enter a label for your layout.

  4. Choose one of the following:

    • Create this layout from fields: Add individual fields to appear in a single table.

    • Create this layout from sections: Group fields under section headers (each section appears as its own table).

  5. If using sections:

    • Click Add section

    • Name the section and choose fields to include

    • Repeat for additional sections

  6. Click Save to finish creating the layout.

To edit or delete a layout:

  • Click the layout name, make changes, and save.

  • To delete, click Delete layout (you’ll see a warning if it's in use).

What customers see

If a product is assigned to a layout and field values are present:

  • The layout appears as a table (or multiple tables if using sections)

  • Tables are titled based on the layout/section names

  • Empty fields are hidden

Can I assign one layout to multiple products?

Yes — layouts are reusable and can be applied in bulk or individually.

What happens if I delete a layout?

It will be removed from any products using it, and those tables will disappear from the storefront.
